About kimono rental
- Is it possible to add or change kimono rental options on the day?
It is possible.
However, please note that we may be unable to offer services depending on the reservation situation and staff arrangment.
- Do you have kimonos and yukata for kids?
We provide kimono and yukta for kids.
For details, please check the Kids Kimono Plan and Kids Yukata Plan.
- Do you have size for men and women who are tall and have large feet?
We have large-sized kimono and yukata (women: approx. 125cm to 180cm; men: 140cm to 195cm) and japanese shoes (women: 21cm to 27cm; men : 24cm to 29cm).
- Please tell me the size of the kimono in store.
We offer women’s kimono/yukata 125cm to 180cm, men’s kimono/yukata 140cm to 195cm, and kids kimono/yukata 80cm to 130cm.
- Do you have any kimono designs that adults can wear?
Each store has approximately 300 items in stock.
There are many kimono coordinations on Kyonomiyako’s official Instagram, so please take a look there.

- Can a woman wear a man’s kimono and a man wear women’s kimono?
Basically, we accept it.
However, due to limited space on changing room and hair styling, we may not be able to accommodate this request, so please be sure to check with each store when making your reservation.

- I’m not used to wearing a kimono, is it okay to wear it?
We provide comfortable and easy-to-wear kimono.
Many customers come to our store for their first experinece in kimono, so please feel free to come.
- What should I do if my kimono falls apart?
If you find it difficult to walk, please contact the store where you rent by phone.
- What should I do if my kimono gets dirty?
If the dirt is able to removed by cleaning, cleaning fee of 3,000 yen will be charged.
If you worried about the dirt due to rainy days or stains from spilled food, you are sugguested to purchase kimono insurance for 550 yen in advance.
However, please note that in the case of stains or tears that make the kimono unable to repaired (oil stains, tears outside the seams, cigarette burns, etc.), a fee of 20,000 yen will be charged regardless of the purchase of insurance.
About hair styling
- I have short hair, can you have my hair styled?
Depending on the length of your hair, it sometimes may not be possible to achieve the style you want, but it is possible to style your hair.
Please consult our hair stylist on the day.
- Can you do hair styling for men?
For men’s hair, please ask the staff on the day. Depending on the situation, we may refuse your request.
Please note that we do not accept advance reservations for men hair style.
- Can I bring my hair accessories and have my hair styled?
You may bring your own hair accessories.
Please show us your accessories before getting your hair set, we will suggest a hairset that suits your style.
- Does the kimono plan include hair styling and hair accessories?
It is included in the Miyako Plan and Haikara-san Plan.but not in other kimono plans.
Please select an optional hair set plan starting from ¥1,600 (with hair accessories) if you are doing reservation for other kimono plans.
- Can I reserve just the hair set?
It is possible.
However, please note that we will not be able to store your luggage or rent out hair accessories.
- Can you do my makeup?
Yes, it is possible.
Please select makeup as an option when making reservation.
- I would like to do my own hair, make-up, etc. Is there a space where I can do it?
We apologize for the inconvenience, but we do not allow customers to set their hair, make-up, wear hair accessories , or dress themselves in the store.
About reservations
- Is it possible to make reservation on the day?
We also accept reservation on that day or walk in, a extra fee of 1,100 yen will be charged per person as walk-in fee.
- What happens if I am late for my reservation time?
Please contact us as soon as you know that you will be delayed.
If there is a free space in the later time, we will change your reservation time. Please note that if you are delayed for more than 10 minutes, your reservation may be canceled depending on the store situation.Or you may have to wait for a long time to dress up.
- What should I do if I want to change or cancel my reservation?

A reservation completion email will be sent to your specified email address. We have attached the URL for cancellations.
Please access and follow the instructions to cancel.
*If you wish to cancel, please complete the cancellation procedure at least 24 hours before the reservation date and time.
*If you cancel within 24 hours of your reservation date and time, we will send you an email with an invoice for the cancellation fee.

- Can big groups make reservations?
It is possible.

- How long does it take from the time of reservation to departure?
The time needed vary depending on the time you choose your kimono, it take approximately 40 to 60 minutes for those wearing only kimono, and 60 to 90 minutes for those with hair set,
- Is there anything I need to prepare on the day?
If you rent kimono from kyonomiyako, we will provide everything you need for dressing, so you can come empty-handed.
If you bring your own kimono, please bring the necessary tools for dressing and items for your kimono.
For customers wearing innerwear, we recommend one with a large opening at the neck.
Please do not put on Tights, stockings, etc. (Items that expose your toes, such as leggings and spats, can be worn.)
About luggage
- Can you store large luggage such as carry cases?
Yes, we can keep it.
When you visit our store, we will give each person a numbered bag (43 cm long, 73 cm wide, 12 cm wide).
We will keep the items that fit inside the bag and one other large piece of luggage (carry cases, carry bag, Boston bag, rucksack, etc.) free of charge.
Please note that for luggage other than those listed above, a storage fee of 550 yen will be charged for each item.

- Is it possible to return kimonos to other stores?
We do not offer return services to other stores.
- Are there discounts for students, groups, couples, etc.?
There is a discount if you select a Couple Plan.We usually do not provide other discount on other plans.
- Is there a car park?
There is no dedicated parking, please use the coin parking nearby.
- Do you have Japanese umbrellas for rainy days?
We do not provide Japanese umbrellas for use on rainy days.
Regular umbrellas are rented or sold by stores, please inqury us.
- I did not receive an email confirming my reservation.
We will send you an automatic email when you complete your reservation on our website.
First, please make sure that the email is not in your spam folder.
For reservations made by phone, SNS, or directly , we will tell you about the remarks and notes when you made your reservation. We will not send you an email again afterwards.
We could not resend the confirmation email to customers, so if you do not have your reservation email after checking, please contact us by phone.
